Copyright and designs

Recently, European copyright laws have been extended to protect copyright and related rights in the information society. We are regularly asked to advise clients on the scope of protection particularly in relation to the transient use of copyright material on the Internet. To date, we have acted for numerous clients, including well-known personalities, wishing to defend their artistic, literary or musical copyright.

Our lawyers also have considerable experience advising on a variety of design issues from registrability to infringement. We have brought and defended actions for infringement of designs ranging from high fashion to building materials. Overall, this is an increasingly important area with the Registered and Unregistered Community Design rights becoming increasingly potent IP rights for clients.
